Building the Diversity

What this course is about?

Sexual exploitation refers to any actual or attempted abuse of a position of vulnerability, differential power, or trust, for sexual purposes, including, but not limited to, profiting financially, socially or politically from the sexual exploitation of another. Sexual abuse is the actual or threatened physical intrusion of a sexual nature, whether by force or under unequal or coercive conditions. Being part of a conflict-affected and insecure setting makes the affectees prone to gender inequalities, power imbalances, and general conditions which heighten the risk of abuse and exploitation, including of sexual nature.

Learning Outcomes

This training will enable the participants to Understand Intersectionality, enabling the organization to meet employees at the Intersection, Understand how various forms of oppression and discrimination can compound on each other, how to address intersectional discrimination in the workplace (hiring, promotions, salaries etc.) and how to incorporate intersectionality into your diversity and inclusion initiatives moving forward.

  • Module 1: Standards of Conduct of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse
  • Module 2: Obligations of project Personnel
  • Module 3: Consequences of Sexual Exploitation and Abuse
  • Module 4: Responsibilities of Heads of Offices/Heads of Departments

Methodology of training

This training is designed to aid the participants with the understanding of the various ways intersectionality and intersectional discrimination can affect your organisations. The mixed-method approach will be used to inculcate the adult learning principles for the training. To make it highly innovative, the trainer will use case studies, open safe space discussions, individual assignments, and exercises. The training will be conducted in a friendly environment where the participants will be encouraged to bring forward their queries and share their thoughts and opinions. Participative practical activities will reinforce individual and group learning. The training will be evaluated at every day’s end to know the shortcomings/lacking and will be improved for the next day.
