Introduction 

Disasters can happen anywhere and at any time. It can be an earthquake, a flood, a war or a famine, anything that throws thousands of lives out of balance. Specifically, in developing countries, the resources to react well are often lacking. Being prepared and knowing how to raise funds in humanitarian situations is of key importance to be able to react and to save lives!

There are different classifications of humanitarian situations and disasters and that they all require different channels to finance the response to them. Also, there are different funds that help, but some require application as early as possible. This training will help you make sure that you have all the important information about how to finance projects in humanitarian situations. It is a great introduction to the topic for anybody working in at-risk countries.

Methodology of Training

The mixed-method approach will be used to inculcate the adult learning principles for the training. To make it highly innovative, the trainer will use discussion, case studies, group work, individual assignments, and exercises. The training will be conducted in a friendly environment where the participants will be encouraged to bring forward their queries and share their thoughts and opinions. Participative practical activities will reinforce individual and group learning. The training will be evaluated at every day’s end to know the shortcomings/lacking and will be improved for the next day.
