The project “Mobilising local communities and stakeholders to improve access to services for persons with disabilities” was implemented to enhance the participation of persons with disabilities and their representative organizations in Iraq’s development process. The project aimed to improve the access to essential services for persons with disabilities by mobilizing local communities and stakeholders. The focus was on enhancing the participation of persons with disabilities in decision-making processes and promoting their inclusion in social, economic, and political spheres.
The project utilized various strategies, including awareness-raising campaigns, capacity building of stakeholders, and advocacy for the rights of persons with disabilities. The overall goal of the project was to empower persons with disabilities to become active agents of change and to promote their participation in Iraq’s development process.
The project included an evaluation that aimed to assess the effectiveness of the interventions and identify areas of improvement. The evaluation involved the use of various data collection methods, including surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions. The findings of the evaluation were used to inform the design of future programs aimed at improving the participation of persons with disabilities in Iraq’s development process and enhancing their access to essential services.
