What this course is about:
The phenomenon of gender-based violence is pervasive around the world, experienced by some one in three women in their lifetimes. The elimination of such violence has been increasingly recognized as a priority for the international community. Effort to fight, prevent and manage gender based violence are being made and need for such interventions in humanitarian sector is immense.
With the aim of attaining the gender equality and empower all women and girls to end all forms of discrimination against all women and girls everywhere and eliminate all forms of violence against all women and girls in the public and private spheres, there is need for organizations and institutions involved in implementing projects to ensure that the projects are socially inclusive and all genders are protected against sexual and gender based violence.
After the training the participants:
The purpose of this course is to improve the knowledge and skills on GBV to staff of international humanitarian and development organizations. The course aims to deepen their understanding and engagement on the responsive programming to fight, prevent and respond to gender based violence. This training will equip participants with knowledge on how to increase social inclusion and discover gender based violence in the organizations and institutions.

Methodology of training:
The mixed-method approach will be used to inculcate the adult learning principles for the training. To make it highly innovative, the trainer will use lectures, discussions, group work, role plays and case studies. The training will be conducted in a friendly environment where the participants will be encouraged to bring forward their queries and share their thoughts and opinions. Participative practical activities will reinforce individual and group learning. The training will be evaluated at every day’s end to know the shortcomings/lacking and will be improved for the next day.
