Introduction

This training is designed to strengthen participants’ capacity to integrate climate change into project planning through a child-centred and rights-based lens. It introduces key concepts, technical tools, sector-specific approaches, and financing options, while grounding learning in practical examples from education, WASH, and other child-focused sectors.

Training Objectives

Specifically, by the end of the training, participants will be able to:

– Explain how climate change affects children and young people across key sectors.
– Describe how climate resilience and mitigation measures can generate direct and indirect benefits for children and communities.
– Identify opportunities to empower children and young people to participate meaningfully in climate action and decision-making.
– Apply technical tools and resources to integrate climate change into Project Planning.
– Use sector-specific planning tools to address climate risks and opportunities in education and WASH programming.
– Consolidate knowledge of climate impacts and planning tools to inform practical project planning.
